Liquidity, not GMV. Two marketplaces with the same GMV can have wildly different liquidity profiles. GMV grows by adding supply; liquidity grows by matching supply to demand. Marketplace VCs trust liquidity-led pitches; GMV-led pitches read as "we added supply, hope demand follows."
